Ark survival game series' sequel

Ark 2 is a premium role-playing title for PC developed by Studio Wildcard in collaboration with Grove Street Games. It's the follow-up to Ark: Survival Evolved open-world survival game. Players awaken to a primal world wherein they need to work together and play it smart to survive and dominate.

Compared to its predecessor, Ark: Survival Evolved, Ark 2 introduces a new story and set of characters for players to meet and interact with. It also comes with next-gen graphics utilizing the latest Unreal Engine 5 for a more realistic and immersive multiplayer experience and cross-platform support. 

Evolved savagery

Ark: Survival Evolved is a third-person action-adventure game that featured harsh and unforgiving environments inspired by prehistoric times. In it, man and dinosaurs existed together in predatory savagery and survival in a unique world that fuses the primal with the technological. Its sequel, Ark 2, builds upon this concept with more realistic visuals and a new intriguing story — taking you on a brand new journey.

In this sequel, you awaken to a strange primal world, with no recollection of how you got there. You must figure out the truth as you work together with legendary ARK hero, Santiago, and his daughter Meeka, trying to face the dangers at every turn. Its skill-based combat requires you to block, parry, and perform precise attacks. Collect the necessary components to craft items and weapons to help with your encounters.

What's more, the game supports cross-platform gameplay and various world events to face together with other players online. You can even create mods like new items and weapons, and even build templates that you can share with the community. However, you will have to wait for a while longer to try your hand at it since it's not out yet. 

Prolonged anticipation due to delayed release date

The group in charge of the Ark franchise, Studio WildCard, has recently provided an announcement regarding the postponement of Ark 2's launch until 2024. Initially, the game was planned to be launched at some point in 2022. The delay was attributed to the challenges faced during the development process using Unreal 5. They described this technology as an innovative system with the potential to revolutionize the video game industry, thus, requiring ample time to utilize and integrate its features into the game to offer a more seamless gaming experience.

During the interim, as players anticipate the release of Ark 2, a new iteration of Ark 1 is poised to take its place. Known as Ark: Survival Ascended, the game explores the battle-royale concept — reminiscent of The Island's survival-of-the-fittest storyline with a vast, open-world setting. The video game promises visual and operational enhancements with multi-platform play, as well as a cross-progression feature. Furthermore, the integration of cross-platform modding amplifies the personalized experience.

Survive and fight for dominance

If you played Ark: Survival Evolved and liked its premise and gameplay, then there will be plenty to like with Ark 2. It builds upon the foundation by introducing better graphics, tighter combat, and a new narrative to follow and experience.
